Country Dog Gentlemen
Happy New Year!
For the past week we have been working on this jigsaw puzzle! It is quite a departure from the Will Moses folk art puzzles we usually work ... and will always enjoy working and reworking! I found this particular puzzle at Barnes & Noble last Fall and could not resist the vibrant colors and silly faces on the dogs! Since then Country Dog Gentlemen has been sitting on my closet shelf waiting patiently. When the moment arrived last weekend to take the puzzle down from the shelf ... curiosity finally overtook me! Who is Roy De Forest? So ... I "googled" him and was stunned to discover that I was perhaps the last person on the planet to know about him and this very fun, quirky painting (which is a beloved painting at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.) If you are like me ... clueless ... visit the SFMOMA website ... www.sfmoma.org to learn about Roy De Forest and his painting ... I guarantee you are in for a treat! .... thank you Roy De Forest!
